Like many couples, COVID-19 changed Meredith and Jason’s initial wedding plans. They initially planned their wedding in Scottsdale, AZ, but the pandemic changed their plans dramatically. They still got married on the original date in Arizona on 2/28/2021, but only their siblings and parents could be present. They live streamed that ceremony so their friends/family that they had originally invited could still feel like they were part of the day, but had to postpone that larger reception until it was safe.
Fast forward to 6/18/2022 and it was finally time to do just that! They had video footage and photos from their original wedding/reception playing on a screen inside that people could watch as they walked by, got drinks, etc. which helped tie the two celebrations together.
Since this was their postponed (and technically their second) reception, they wanted to keep it all very relaxed and just have a good time enjoying everyone's company. They stuck with the first wedding's color palette - primarily a dusty blue color with whites, peaches, corals and greenery incorporated in the florals. When choosing their venue, they wanted an outdoor space that wouldn't break the bank that also had indoor backup options just in case. They also thought it would be fun to be able to go back to their venue over the following years to see performances and always be able to remember their special day.
They were most excited to finally be able to celebrate with all of their friends & family! About a week before the wedding they found out they were expecting their first child so when they were doing photos with immediate family beforehand, they had the photographers announce the news as they were snapping photos/video.
When describing their day Meredith and Jason said it was a happy celebration that was long overdue, but they were so glad that they didn't just cancel it. Seeing everyone that came out to celebrate them even 1.5 years after they officially tied the knot meant so much.
"Stacie is amazing!! My husband and I had a mini COVID wedding, so it was finally time in June 2022 to host our larger reception. We held it at The Lincoln Center's rooftop patio and after talking with several day-of coordinators, Stacie was an easy decision to make both due to her positive energy AND her experience at our venue. Even though we hired her as our "day of" coordinator, she gave us several vendor recommendations and we had a few planning meetings together to nail down every detail.
Day-of, she took care of every single detail that we wouldn't have even thought of. Not only did this make everything run smoothly, but it also meant we didn't have to ask our family/friends to help set up/tear down. At the end of the reception, she had already gathered all of our personal decor, gifts, and leftover catering and had it stashed in our car. Our parents and everyone in our bridal party was raving about her all night!
Bottom line – hire Carver Coordination! You won't regret it!" -Meredith
